I am a bleeding heart,
From the lands of bleeding hearts,

From the heart that bleeds,

From the lands Columbus bled.

I am from the lands where the Incas, the Mayas and the Aztecs bled.

The lands that Reagan bled,

The lands that bleed still,

In memory of the blood that was shed.

I am from the lands south of the Navajo, the Cherokee, and the Sioux.

The lands that Jackson bled,

The lands that bleed still,

In memory of the blood that was shed.

I am a bleeding heart liberal,

From the lands of bleeding hearts.

I am Mestizo.

I am Latin American.
